Tesla just dropped its Q1 2026 production and delivery numbers this morning, and the results are raising eyebrows. Here are the most important Tesla statistics right now, combining today's breaking figures with the latest full-year 2025 data.
Q1 2026: The Fresh Numbers
1. Tesla delivered 358,023 vehicles in Q1 2026. In the first quarter, Tesla delivered over 358,000 vehicles globally, according to the official Business Wire release from Tesla Investor Relations published this morning.
2. Tesla missed Wall Street expectations. The 358,023 deliveries came in about 7,600 units below the Wall Street consensus of 365,645 vehicles.
3. Tesla produced 408,386 vehicles in Q1 2026. Tesla produced over 408,000 vehicles in Q1 — significantly more than it sold.
4. Tesla built 50,000 more cars than it delivered. Tesla produced 50,363 more vehicles than it delivered in Q1 2026, with almost all of that excess sitting in the Model 3/Y category.
5. The Model 3 and Model Y accounted for the vast majority of deliveries. Model 3/Y production came to 394,611 units and deliveries to 341,893, while other models produced 13,775 and delivered 16,130.

6. Q1 2026 is only 6% better than Q1 2025 — and that's not a good sign. The 358,023 deliveries represent a 6.3% year-over-year increase from Q1 2025's 336,681 vehicles. But Q1 2025 was Tesla's weakest quarter in years because the company shut down Model Y production lines across all four factories to transition to the refreshed "Juniper" Model Y.
7. Deliveries fell sharply quarter-on-quarter. Sequentially, deliveries dropped 14.4% from Q4 2025's 418,227 vehicles — a steeper decline than Tesla's typical seasonal patterns.
8. Energy storage collapsed in Q1 2026. Tesla deployed just 8.8 GWh of energy storage products in Q1 2026 — a 38% drop from Q4 2025's 14.2 GWh and far below the analyst consensus of 14.4 GWh.
9. The Model S and Model X are gone. Tesla confirmed that Model S and Model X production is over, with only about 600 units left in global inventory. Tesla is now selling down remaining stock.
10. The Cybertruck remains a niche product. The "Other Models" figure going forward will be almost entirely Cybertruck — and at roughly 13,000–16,000 units per quarter, the truck remains a niche product more than two years after launch.
Full Year 2025: What We Know
11. Tesla delivered 1.636 million vehicles in all of 2025. Total vehicle production for 2025 reached 1,654,667 units, while total vehicle deliveries reached 1,636,129 vehicles.
12. That's a significant decline from 2024. In 2024, Tesla produced 1,773,443 cars and delivered 1,789,226. The 2025 figures are 8% and 8.6% down, respectively.

13. Tesla delivered 16% fewer vehicles in 2025 than its peak. The main automotive sector faced declining demand, resulting in a 16% drop in vehicle deliveries compared to the prior year.
14. Tesla's total revenue for 2025 was $94.83 billion. This fell short of the $97.69 billion record set in 2024.
15. Automotive revenue dropped 10%. Tesla's automotive revenue dropped 10% in 2025 to $69.56 billion, indicating softer vehicle sales demand and pricing pressures.
16. Operating income fell by roughly 38% year-on-year. Operating income declined to $4.36 billion in 2025, down from $7.07 billion in 2023 — a two-year decline of approximately 51%.
17. Earnings per share dropped 47%. EPS decreased to $1.08, raising investor concerns about expense management and competitiveness.
18. Energy generation and storage was the one bright spot — up 27%. The energy generation and storage division grew 27%, resulting in $12.77 billion in revenue for 2025.
Tesla vs. The Market
19. Tesla's US EV market share has been shrinking. Tesla's 2024 US EV market share was approximately 48.7% for the full year, down from approximately 55% in 2023 and approximately 65% in 2022.

20. BYD now produces far more EVs than Tesla. In 2025, BYD produced nearly 2.26 million electric cars compared to Tesla's 1.65 million. BYD's overall vehicle production increased to 4.54 million — above Ford and Stellantis.

21. The cheaper stripped-down models aren't moving the needle. Tesla introduced stripped-down versions of the Model Y and Model 3 starting at $39,990 and $36,990 respectively in October 2025. Despite the lower price points, the new vehicles have not meaningfully lifted overall sales.
22. Tesla risks a third consecutive year of declining sales. The poor first quarter means Tesla now risks seeing its overall sales decline for a third year in a row — at a time when its profits are also under pressure.
Tesla in Europe and the UK

23. European sales collapsed in 2025. European sales were massively impacted in 2025, down from 326,000 units in 2024 to just over 235,000.
24. Germany saw the steepest European decline. Tesla registrations in Germany plunged 62.2%, signalling a major shift in Europe's largest automotive market.
25. UK sales fell nearly 10% in 2025. Tesla registered a total of 45,113 cars in the UK in 2025 — a 9.58% drop on 2024, giving the brand a market share of 2.25%.
26. BYD overtook Tesla in the UK. BYD registered 51,422 new cars in the UK in 2025, a massive 485% increase on 2024, putting it ahead of Tesla's UK total.
Infrastructure & Beyond
27. Tesla has over 7,500 Supercharger stations globally. As of January 2026, Tesla operates over 7,500 Superchargers across 54 countries, capable of adding up to 172 miles of range in 15 minutes.
28. The US and China together hold 67% of all Supercharger stations. The two countries collectively operate 5,064 Supercharger locations as of September 2025.
29. Tesla has 1.1 million active FSD subscribers. Tesla ended 2025 with 1.1 million active Full Self-Driving subscribers — a 38% year-over-year increase — with monthly subscription growth more than doubling sequentially during the year.
30. Tesla has built around 8.5 million vehicles in total since inception. Tesla announced the production of its seven millionth car in October 2024, with the cumulative total now sitting at approximately 8.5 million vehicles.
