How to Set-up Dartford Auto Pay Account?

The Dartford crossing joins Dartford and Thurrock across the River Thames. It consists of two-lane road tunnels under the river, normally used for northbound traffic and the Queen Elizabeth II bridge for southbound traffic.

A charge (toll) is payable in both directions. Drivers are responsible to pay the charges if they use Dartford Crossing between 6:00am to 10:00pm every day, including weekends and bank holidays.

The charges depend on two things;

  1. Type of the vehicle you are driving

2.Whether you have an account with them or not

If you are disabled and have a free UK vehicle tax due to your disability, you are exempted from paying the Dart charge.

If you use the Dartford Crossing and do not pay by midnight the day after you cross. You get a £70 fine that will be reduced to £35 if you pay within 14 days of the issued date. If you fail to pay the fine within 28 days. It will increase to £105 + the crossing charge.

The best way to avoid this is to make an account by going to website, search for Dartford Charge or click here: Choose to set up an account and click next.

There two kinds of accounts you can make.
1: Pre Pay: This account is best for people who are using the Dartford Crossing frequently as you can save on every crossing. You can pay automatically from the account.
